Change is constant. Pain and struggle are universal. We all need support at times, and seeking professional help can be a challenging and daunting endeavor. A main goal of mine as a therapist is to create a safe space that is free of judgment, full of compassion, concern, and understanding. I strive to meet people where they are in their lives, always approaching issues through trauma-informed and harm-reduction lenses. As your therapist, I would work with you collaboratively to find the means and ways to best address and support you with the issues that you are going through. For me, the space created, and the therapeutic relationship that is developed, allows for healing, growth, deeper understanding, and acceptance with regards to what comes our way in life.
My approach to therapy is based in psychodynamic, strengths-based, and relational orientations. I utilize a wide range of modalities and interventions in working with individuals including motivational interviewing, cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, psychoanalysis, brief exposure interventions, strengths-based perspective, solutions-focused therapy, and harm reduction. My specific areas of interest and expertise include mood disorders, anxiety disorders, substance use, relational and familial issues, grief and loss, issues impacting male-identified individuals, work-place stressors, and issues of identity. I graduated with a BA in Philosophy from Kenyon College, going on to complete my Master’s in Social Services (MSW equivalent) from Bryn Mawr College. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of Pennsylvania.
